Happy Monday, you guys! I hope that your weekend was great! Mine was lovely.

I bought this top for like $3.00 on clearance at Forever 21. I wore it with a pair of jean shorts and similar jewelry. A while later, I was trying to come up with an outfit to wear to church, and I came up with this. I love outfits that can be changed just a little bit and be made into another outfit. Where you can just change the bottom, or shoes, or even accessories and make it a totally different outfit.

Have you ever done that before? Tell me about it in the comments. I'd love to know!

High Five for Friday: Fall Anticipations

Hey, hey, it's Friday! This week, I thought it would be neat to do a Fall Anticipations edition of my regular High Five for Friday post. Here are five Autumn related things that I am looking forward to:

1. One word: FASHION! I absolutely cannot wait until sweater weather is here. I am so excited to layer my clothes without sweltering. I love every aspect of Fall fashion: sweaters, scarves, muted colors, leggings, and most of all, boots.

2. Food. My favorite Fall food would have to be anything pumpkin. I could eat pumpkin flavored anything at any time of year. I am also really looking forward to apple cider and candy corn.

3. Fall colors. I am completely obsessed with Fall, if you haven't noticed by now. I adore all of the reds, oranges, greens, yellows, purples, and browns of Fall. Probably my favorite Fall color is a dark, vibrant orange, but this season, I have really been loving burgundy/marsala colors.

4. Fall scenery. Every year, I never get enough of the beautiful fall scenery. During the Summer to Fall transition, every time I spot a new tree that's leaves are changing colors, I point it out and get really happy inside. There is just something about the leaves changing colors that makes my heart super happy.

5. Cooler weather. I love Summer as much as anybody else, but there comes a time when hot weather gets too hot. From the South, I've experienced hot temperatures and am pretty used to them, but that doesn't mean that I prefer them. I would much rather have cooler temps.

What part of Fall are you looking forward to?

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

Ashley over at Peaceful Simple Life nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. This means that she was nominated and is continuing the chain by nominating ten other bloggers. She was asked ten questions, and she asks ten questions of those that she nominated.

Here are the rules:

-Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog.
-Answer the 10 questions provided by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate 10-12 bloggers with links to each blog.
-Ask your nominees 10 questions.
-Include the logo somewhere in your post.

Ashley had some really great questions! Here are her questions and my answers:

1. What is your favorite beauty tip?
I would say that my favorite beauty tip would be using an old t-shirt as a towel for your hair. Towels are rough on all hair but especially curly hair (which I have). They break curls and cause frizz. Using a t-shirt in place of a towel helps my hair be less frizzy, softer, and healthier.

2. What is your ideal Saturday?
My ideal Saturday starts with sleeping in late. Then I would have a delicious gourmet breakfast. Getting a manicure and pedicure would come next, then I would go shopping. Then I'd probably go home. While at home I would bake, or sew, or craft. Watching at least one of my favorite movies would also be in there. Obviously a yummy lunch and dinner, each complete with dessert, would be mixed in there, too.

3. Who would you take with you if you were a contestant on "The Amazing Race"?
Oooh, this is a tough one. I would probably take my aunt. I would take her because she is pretty athletic, adventurous, and smart.

4. If you could have any "superpower", what would it be?
My ideal superpower is telepathy. I think that telepathy would be so cool!

5. If you could rid the world of one fashion trend, which trend would you choose?
There are so many that I could choose from! Just kidding! :) I would get rid of ugly sandals, or more specifically Birkenstocks. They are so ugly and I have never liked them, and probably definitely never will.

6. Do prefer cooking or baking? (Or neither?)
I used to prefer baking, but I like cooking better now. I really like to experiment with different ingredients and make cool new versions and variations of dishes.

7. What is your favorite junk food?
My favorite junk food is ice cream. Enough said, right? :)

8. What is your favorite song to belt out in the car?
I love music and am constantly singing in the car (who am I kidding? I sing everywhere), so this one is hard for me. I guess I would say Girl Named Tennessee, or Drive All Night by NEEDTOBREATHE. These two are super fun with great music.

9. What is your biggest pet peeve at the grocery store?
I hate it when moms don't handle their children and they are going crazy all over the store.

10. What motivated you to start blogging?
About three years ago, I got a Pinterest account. After getting it, I was super inspired by all of the fashion and style pins. Then I came across a pin from Audrey's blog. After getting into her blog, it led me to several other blogs. I love(d) blogs, especially fashion/style blogs. Then one day, God placed the thought of having my own blog into my head. So, I guess I would say my love for other blogs and God motivated me to start blogging.

Thanks so much, Ashley, for nominating me! I had so much fun answering all of your great questions!

I am nominating:
Nikki at Carry Grace
Krista at K Avenue
Kristen at Ladybug Blessing
Katie at Cup of Tea
Kiki at In It's Time
Mackenzie at Spreading His Grace

My questions for you:

1. What is your least favorite food?
2. What, besides blogging, do you like to do in your free time?
3. What is your favorite vacation so far?
4. What would you do with a million dollars?
5. What inspired your blog name?
6. What is your favorite genre of music?
7. What is the most worn piece in your closet?
8. What is your most used beauty item?
9. What is your favorite blog and why?
10. What are three words that describe you?

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

5 Clothing Items I Can't Live Without

Happy Tuesday! I hope that your Monday wasn't too bad. I know how awful Mondays can be. Today I have for you the 5 clothing items that I just can't live without.

5 Clothing Items I Can't Live Without jean denim jacket leopard flats cross body purse black skinny jeans maxi dress

1. Denim Jacket
If you've been here before, you probably know that I LOVE my jean jacket. I wear it all. the. time. It is such a perfect layer over dresses, or tops. I also like how women lately have been tying them around their waists. (Hello 90's. Nice to see you again.) Let's just say there's a reason why my jean jacket is on the top of this list.

2. Flats
Not only do I love all flats, but I also love my leopard flats. They are so great for any outfit, especially Fall transition outfits. I am constantly wearing them. They are super easy to just throw on and go. Plus, they match practically any outfit.

3. Cross Body Purse
I can't live without my cross body purse because, literally, it is the best purse ever. It is so easy to wear. I don't have to use my hands, and there are so many super cute ones out there. You'll never, ever have to search for a cross body purse.

4. Black Skinny Jeans
These black skinny jeans have been my go to. I can not tell you how many times a week I wear them. They are the perfect addition to any and every woman's closet.

5. Maxi Dress
I have a few maxi dresses, and I have to make sure that I space out my wears so that people don't think that all I own are maxis. They are super comfortable, cute, and versatile. Plus, they pair really well with a denim jacket. Oh, and this one is on clearance for less than $9!

Well, that wraps it up. What are some pieces that you can't live without? I'd love to hear from you!

Summer Recap

School has already started back here in South Carolina. Even though school starting doesn't really affect me, it kind of ushers in the end of Summer. Somehow, in my book, the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall don't meet up because obviously it's not Fall yet, but Summer is over. Kind of like there is a whole space in between the two. Just go with it. I'll work out the details later. :)

Anyway, since Summer is over for me, I decided that I'd do a Summer recap. Here is what happened this Summer:

May

1st-3rd: Camping at Barnwell South Carolina State Park

28th: My Birthday!

Favorite post of May: High Five for Friday 05/29

June

6th-11th: Camping in Table Rock Tennessee

27th-July 5th: Choir Tour of South Carolina

Favorite post from June: Style Snippets: 5 Tips for Pattern Mixing or Summer 2015 Trends: Pineapples, Flamingoes and Tassels

There were so many great posts in June, it was difficult for me to even pick just two favorite posts.

July

4th: Independence Day. Such a fun day at the pool with some really great friends!

19th: Reunited to sing again with the choir.

Favorite post form July: 5 Ways to Beat the Heat

Obviously, a lot more happened this Summer. These things were just the most notable. How was your Summer?

High Five for Friday

Hey, y'all! I hope you had a great week! Keep reading to see the five high points of my week:

1. Saturday was spent being lazy. I blogged a bit, and there was an American Ninja Warrior marathon, so obviously I binge watched that, and I also watched a Pure Flix film called Do You Believe? It was a really good movie. There were a good bit of plot twists, so much suspense, and lots of action.

2. On Monday night, I was super excited because I won a giveaway that Jaclyn hosted. It was to an online shop called Haute 74. I can't wait to spend the money that I won and expand my wardrobe.

3. Lately, God has really been showing me His power and His healing. Click here to read more of my thoughts on what He has been teaching me.

4. Soon, I am going to purchase my first Elegantee. Elegantees is an online boutique that is based in Nepal. Most of their workers are from Nepal. If I'm not mistaken, all of their profits go to Nepali Rescue Project. Here is there mission statement: Nepal is a beautiful kingdom between China and India with mountains and countryside. It’s also one of the least developed countries in the world and ranks high for sex trafficking. Thankfully, The Nepali Rescue Project finds and returns over 20,000 victims of trafficking each year. We get to employ some of them and play a key role toward a bright future! After I receive my order, I will have a lovely free shipping code for y'all. Be on the lookout!!

5.Recently, I have been getting out of my style comfort zone and have been trying out some trends. The other day, I tried out the arm party/arm candy trend. You can go here to see the full post, but here is a picture:

Have a wonderful weekend!

Watch: Charming Charlie (exact, similar)

This outfit is probably one of my favorite outfits. I loved the way it looked, I felt confident and pretty in it, and I even got a really nice compliment when I was wearing it.

I was a little hesitant to wear this outfit because I had never worn multiple bracelets stacked before. I had seen it everywhere on tons of women, but I wasn't sure that I could pull it off. But, I wore it anyway, and I really liked it!

Since then, I have been layering bracelets like crazy. Whenever I wear a bracelet now, It is usually accompanied with at least one more. As of late, I am bracelet crazy.

What trend are you hesitant to try out? Have you tried a trend even though you felt hesitant to? Did you end up liking it?

You Are His Daughter

A while back, a friend of mine was telling me about how she had read a devotional that was talking about the sick woman in the Bible (Matthew 9:18-26, Mark 5:21-43, Luke 9:40-56). The devo was about how Jesus had called her daughter, and how she, the unnamed, dying woman, was precious in Jesus' eyes. I want to expound on what that means for you today because this is something that I have been learning, and it has been changing my life.

The sick woman. An unnamed woman who had been suffering from a bleeding disorder for 12 years. She had been to doctors, but she only grew worse (Luke 9:26). We learn from each of these passages that she had suffered greatly. She was dying. Dying. Such a scary word.

But, we also learn that she had great faith in Jesus who she believed could and would heal her. She said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." (Mark 5:28). She knew with all of her heart that Jesus was not just some ordinary man. She knew that he was Healer.

And so, what did she do? She stepped out in great faith and touched Jesus' cloak in the middle of a big crowd while Jesus was busy. Jesus could have gone without noticing her. He was in a crowd with hundreds of people bumping into him at all sides. Yet, when she stepped out in faith and touched his cloak, He felt it. He knew that one of his precious, beautiful daughters was suffering and had come to Him to get healed.

The Bible says that once she touched Him, at that very instant, she was healed and free from her suffering. At that very instant. Wow. I really cannot take that in. She received immediate relief when she touched Him.

And when she told Him that it was she who had touched Him, He called her daughter. Daughter. Does that not give you chill bumps? She was precious. She was loved. She was known. She was valuable. She was His daughter. Now matter what she had done, He would heal her because He loved her and she was His daughter.

Put your name in place of she in the above paragraph: Sarah is precious, Sarah is loved, Sarah is known, Sarah is valuable, Sarah is His daughter. No matter what Sarah does, Jesus will heal Sarah because He loves her and Sarah is His daughter. Such life-changing words.

What does this mean for you/us? It means that whatever you are going through, struggling with, or suffering from, if you only step out in faith, YOU WILL BE HEALED. The kicker here is, you have to step out and touch Him. You have to get close enough to Jesus in order to touch Him and receive His immediate healing.

I want you to know that right now, right now, whatever situation that you are in, you, daughter of Christ, can receive His powerful healing. You just have to come close enough and touch Him. His arms are outstretched. He wants His daughter to come get healed. Get close to Jesus. Touch His cloak. And be instantly healed.

What are you going through right now? Have you received Jesus healing before? Tell me about it in the comments. I want to know.

DIY Simple Handmade Tassel Necklace

Ever since I wrote this post, I have been going tassel crazy. Tassel necklaces are EVERYWHERE, and it seems like everyone is wearing them. I like them, but I know that some people don't. Personally, I like the ones that have a regular chain, instead of a wooden bead chain. I thought that I might be able to make one. After I bought some supplies, I tried my hand at making one, and it actually turned out really well. So well that I decided to create a tutorial so that you can make one, too.
diy handmade tassel necklace interchangeable orange yellow green purple gold

Supplies:
gold chain
lobster clasps
jump rings
embroidery thread
scissors
cardboard or cardstock

diy handmade tassel necklace interchangeable orange yellow green purple gold

1. Use the cardstock or cardboard, embroidery thread, and scissors to make the tassel per this tutorial. You will need to make the tassel smaller.

2. Cut the chain with the scissors to the size that you want your necklace to be.

3. Attach a jump ring to the tassel.

4. Attach the tassel to the gold chain.

5. Attach a lobster clasp and a jump ring to the gold chain.

6. That's all!

I also made other colors so that I could interchange them and have so many more necklaces in one.

Wasn't that easy?

High Five for Friday

Happy Friday, you guys! How was your week? I hope it was great! Keep reading to get a taste of how my week went:

1. On Friday, after I wrote last week's post, I went and got my haircut. I hadn't gotten a haircut since mid to late May. For me, that is a long time because my hair grows really fast. A fresh haircut always feels so good. :)

2. Are you on Bloglovin'? I am. I would love it if you would follow me if you don't already. I love connecting with my readers in every way possible. Bloglovin' is such a great way to connect with bloggers. Plus, you will never miss a post when you follow a blog. If you don't already, please follow me by clicking on the black Bloglovin' button on the right sidebar.

3. Monday was my mom's birthday, and she decided that she was going to make herself some homemade ice cream. You may already know my love for ice cream. Let me tell you, that ice cream was so yummy! It was brownie batter ice cream, with giant peanut butter chips, brownie chunks, homemade chocolate magic shell, and whipped cream. I kind of wish their was enough for me to have gotten seconds. It was that good.

4. Most students in my area are going back to school, and though that doesn't really apply to me, it still kind of ushers in Fall for me. Fall is my favorite season. Every thing about Fall is perfect. Even though I love Fall, I am still holding onto what little bit of Summer we have left. How about you? Are you ready for the cooler months? Or are you still holding onto Summer like me?

5. I am gearing up for some exciting things that are coming to the blog soon! I'm super duper excited! From free shipping codes to product reviews, new stuff is coming. Be on the lookout!

Just in case you missed them, I posted these posts this week:

Love and Hate

Becky at BYBMG posted a Love and Hate post after being invited to join in the fun by a few other bloggers. At the end of her post, she invited anyone who haven't been nominated yet. So, I decided to join in on all the fun. Here are ten things I love and ten things I hate:

Love

1. Jesus! You probably already knew this, but you can never say it enough.

2. Shoes. I guess I could have made this "Accessories" instead of  "Shoes" because I love jewelry and purses almost as much as I love shoes. I have always loved shoes. I can't remember a time when I didn't love shoes.

3. Ice Cream. My favorite dessert is ice cream. You know those people who only eat soup in the winter and only eat ice cream and frozen treats in the summer? Yeah, I'm not one of those people. If I could, I would eat ice cream every day.

4. My family. Some of my closest friends are also my family. I am super close to my immediate family especially, but I am also very close to my family on my father's side. I don't know what I would do without them.

5. My iPhone. I know. This one is kind of materialistic, but I don't want to be fake here. I want to be honest. I try to limit my time on my phone, but with social media, email, text, etc, I just end up using it a lot. If you had an iPhone, you would understand. Just kidding. :)

6. Books. I love reading. When I was younger, I used to hate reading, but now, I really like it. I like reading fiction a lot, but I also really like to read devotionals and nonfiction books.

7. Fashion, duh. I can't believe that I haven't mentioned fashion yet. I most definitely don't follow all fashion trends, but I really do love fashion and style. It is such a great way to show your personality without even talking.

8. Blogging. A few years ago, when I got my Pinterest account, I discovered Putting Me Together, and that is where it all started. I ended up following lots of other fashion/style blogs. It finally occurred to me that I should start a style blog, and here we are.

9. Music. I have always loved to sing,  but I also like playing piano. Music is such an inspiring outlet for me. I love it!

10. The beach. It's just perfect.

Hate- I am going to copy Becky, and suggest we say dislike. Hate is such a harsh word.

1. Okra. I know. I'm from the South. I should love it, but...... YUCK!

2. Fish. Not just as food. I just really don't like fish AT ALL. They gross me out and make my skin crawl.

3. Buying clothes at full price. Or when stores jack up the prices, and say their having a sale, when the item isn't even worth the "sale".

4. Sweeping the floor. Chores just aren't fun.

5. Math. I have always hated math, and I don't ever think I will like it.

6. Bugs. Especially spiders.

7. Making mistakes. I know. We all make them, but I really am a big perfectionist.

8. Being rushed. Everybody says I am just an overall slow person and that I do everything slow. It's not that I'm slow, I just like to take my time doing things everything.

9. Horror movies. What's the point?

10. Natural disasters. They are so devastating! I just can't stand them.

That wraps it up! I really enjoyed doing this love and hate post so that y'all can get to know me more.

I am supposed to tag a few people to join in on the fun:
Rachel of Garay Treasures
Tif of Bright on a Budget
Katie of Cup of Tea
Whitney of Come Home for Comfort
Ashley of Peaceful Simple Life
Shea of Shea Lennon
Andrea of Living on Cloud Nine
and everyone else who wants to join in.

Style Snippets: 3 Easy Ways to Wear a Graphic Tee

Happy Tuesday! Today, I bring you the fourth installment in my Style Snippets series. You can read the first three here, here, and here. Don't forget to vote at the end of this post! Last time, the vote was almost unanimous: the most votes went to Ways to Wear a Graphic Tee. So, here are 3 easy ways to wear a graphic tee:

Weekend

Outfit details:
Top: Old Navy (similar, similar)
Skirt: Kohl's (similar, similar)
Scarf: Old Navy (similar, similar)
Purse: Target (similar, similar)
Bracelet: Wal-Mart (similar, similar)

This way is probably my favorite look. I love how comfy and chic this outfit is. I also love how the purse adds a beautiful, blue pop of color. This outfit is super comfy and pretty. This outfit is the most out of my comfort zone, and it was kind of unexpected when I came up with it. I think that's why I love it so much. :)

Casual

Outfit details:
Top: Made by me (similar, similar)
Jeans: Kohl's (similar, similar)
Blazer: Dress Barn (similar, similar)
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar, similar)
Shoes: Kohl's (similar, similar)
Bracelet: Wal-Mart (similar, similar)

This outfit is probably the most predictable for me, but I love it. I love how there are light colors, bright colors, and dark colors. I also love how the shirt matches my favorite shoes. This outfit kind of dresses up the graphic tee, but not too much. The blazer and the jewelry add a lovely touch of fanciness.

Dressy

Outfit details:
Skirt: (similar, similar)
Necklace: (similar, similar)
Shoes: Ross (exact, similar)
Bracelet: Charming Charlie (similar, similar)

I absolutely love this look. I love how the purple statement necklace adds so much to the outfit. I have so much good stuff to say about this outfit, but I'll be short and say that I just LOVE it. The wedges, skirt, and jewelry help to dress up the graphic tee. I almost wore my nude heels, but it would have made the graphic tee look out of place. Since I wore the wedges instead, it kept the graphic tee looking great with the other pieces.

Which is your favorite look out of these three?
