Pantone's Colors of the Year- Rose Quartz and Leopard

Happy Monday! I hope you had a super amazing weekend! Mine was lovely! *Note: My blog is still under construction.* Today, I have an outfit post for you:

Pants: Old Navy (similar, similar)
Belt: Kohl's (exact, similar)
Heels: K-Mart (similar, similar)
Necklace: Charming Charlie (similar, similar)
Watch: Charming Charlie (similar, similar)

As you probably know by now, I am so in love with Pantone's colors of the year, Serenity and Rose Quartz. I have written here so many times about them. For instance: here I posted a compilation of plenty of Rose Quartz clothing items that I love that you can buy, here I posted tips to wearing Rose Quartz, here I posted an outfit with shamrock green and Rose Quartz, and here I posted 3 ways to wear both Rose Quartz and Serenity.

I cannot stop wearing Rose Quartz. Coincidentally, I am wearing a Rose Quartz necklace right now as I am writing this post.

In this outfit, I paired my favorite Rose Quartz top with all neutrals that are colors in traditional leopard print. Leopard is usually thought of as bold, but here I only wore a leopard belt, and the pale pink, lace top softens it up.

Another thing about this outfit is that I tried the half-tuck trend with my shirt. Every time in the past that I would try half-tucking my shirt, it would always look weird, but I think it turned out pretty well here if I do say so myself.

What are your thoughts? What is your favorite thing about this outfit?

High Five for Friday + Five Minute Friday: Easy

Happy Friday!! Thank goodness it's the weekend! I have had a hard time adjusting back to regular life which you can read more about in number two. How was your week? Keep on reading to see how mine went!

1. The Five Minute Friday prompt today is easy:

I believe that a lot of us get stuck only doing what's easy. Most of us can say that sometimes we take the easy way out. We eat that doughnut instead of a salad. We walk away instead of talk to someone who is hurting. We hide when we need to stand up for Christ.

It is extremely important that we stop right now taking the easy way. Something that I have learned this year, really learned, is that the hard way is never comfortable. It will never be fun, or easy. It will only always be hard and uncomfortable.

In the end, we will see what happened as a result of us taking the easy way, or maybe talking the hard way. I know that when we take the hard way, there will be reward and amazing things will come of it. But when we do what's easy, we will have five seconds of comfort usually followed by guilt.

So, do hard things today.

2. On Thursday of last week, I went on a church retreat that lasted until Sunday evening. It was in Nashville and I had such a great time! The theme was Called which I believe was extremely fitting and God spoke to me through it. Most of what I got from it was how God has called different people to different places. And also, to keep an open mind and not get too comfortable in what you may think your calling is. I can't wait to go back next year!

It took me a while to get adjusted back to regular life after I got home. On Monday, I had a really hard time getting up and doing my responsibilities, but I knew that I needed to get up and do some stuff.

3. On Tuesday, regular life commenced and I ran my regular errands. This is what I wore #ootd:

4. Recently, we got a Nutri Ninja blender which also comes with smoothie cups and a food processor. We have had a Ninja blender before, but this one different and is SO AMAZING! It blended my shake so quickly!

5. I know that a couple of weeks ago I said that my blog was getting redesigned, but that has been postponed and will actually happen today or tomorrow or so. So be on the lookout!

Daily Make-up Routine: 5 Minute Face

Happy Wednesday! I hope that your weekend was so great!! I'll tell you more about mine on Friday. Today, I am going to share with you the everyday make-up that I use which also only takes 5 minutes. Note, I don't wear make-up everyday, but on regular days, this is what I would wear.

Here is my routine:

  • I start with my favorite primer. I got this one from Birchbox and I love how lightweight it is.
  • Then, I dust translucent powder all over my face and neck to achieve an even-toned look.
  • Usually, I curl my eyelashes, but if I am crunched for time, I just skip it and go onto swiping some brown mascara on both upper and lower lashes. I like brown mascara better because it looks less harsh, and it gives my face a more natural look.
  • Next, I brush some bright coral blush on my cheekbones, and a tiny bit on both my forehead and chin.
  • Lastly, I finish the look with one of my favorite lip balms which you can see below.

I am not a big lipstick wearer. I tend to wear lip balms and tinted lip balms. They do the job of adding color to my lips, and moisturizing them.

Currently: April

Happy Wednesday! Today, I bring you my monthly currently post. Thanks so much to Anne and Jenna for hosting the link-up and providing the prompts!

MAKING
As of late, I have been making my bullet journal. I have talked about it in a few H54F posts, but I have never really shown you guys the inside. Well, today is the day that y'all get to get a peek inside my bullet journal! Note that I have since added a page or two since I took these photos, but this is mostly all that I have done.

Here is my table of contents, 2016 inspiration, yearly calendar, April calendar, and April 3-9 weekly calendar:

WISHLISTING
I have been wanting all of the girly things. For instance, this crochet cardigan, and literally all the tops from Old Navy. Also, I really need a pair of black sandals that are not thong, have a strap on the back, and are not too high of a wedge. I know, I know. I have a lot of stipulations, but I want to get something that I will actually wear.

CLEANING
Since it is spring, I have been spring cleaning the house lately. I like to keep my room really clean, but the rest of the house and the outdoors needed a bit of work.

POSTING
Yesterday, I posted How to Pack Your Suitcase the Most Effectively. In this post, I showed you guys a packing capsule and how to remix from your suitcase.

On Wednesday, I posted It's Not Over Yet which was filled with a story, a sermon, and a song.

TASTING
Presently, I have been eating all the fruits. For some reason, I'm just really not into vegetables right now. I have really been loving Cara Cara oranges. They are super juicy and sweet. All I want to do is eat fresh fruits, or decadent desserts. I guess it's one extreme to other, right? :)

How to Pack Your Suitcase the Most Effectively

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was so nice! Today, I have a trip packing guide for your most effective suitcase:

How to Pack Your Suitcase the Most Effectively packing travel trip

The best way to save space in your suitcase is to pack a a few pieces that can be remixed and made into many outfits. Here is a snapshot of what I would pack in my suitcase clothes-wise:

How to Pack Your Suitcase the Most Effectively packing travel trip

Just a side note: the leopard scarf is just an extra scarf. I didn't use it in the outfits that follow.

My packing capsule includes:
  • two tee/regular shirts,
  • one dress,
  • one button down because it can be worn as a completer piece or as a top,
  • two completer pieces,
  • two pairs of shoes,
  • and one scarf.
Obviously, I didn't count exercise clothes, pajamas, undergarments, or jewelry in my capsule.

You must make sure that all of your pieces are very easily remixable. Notice that most of the clothing in my capsule is neutral colored. Packing mostly neutrals allows more room in your suitcase, and it makes it easier to get dressed each morning. You can always add color with a necklace or other kinds of jewelry if you do not want to wear an all neutral outfit.

Also, even though I didn't include jewelry in the capsule, I only used three necklaces in the following outfits.

The following outfits I made out of this packing capsule. There are ten outfits which means that I made ten different outfits out of seven pieces of clothing.

When traveling, always make sure to bring the least amount of clothes as possible by packing pieces that are easy to mix and match.

High Five for Friday + Five Minute Friday: Decide

Happy Friday! I hope you had a super great week! My week was amazing! Read on to see why:

1.The prompt for Five Minute Friday is decide

When you decide something, you consciously make a choice about something. You must decide whether or not you get out of bed each morning. You have to decide what you are going to eat for dinner. You must decide who you are going to follow: Christ or yourself.

I am a really awful decision maker. It takes me forever to make a good, solid choice on something. I am not always like this on every situation, like what to eat. I have a harder time making a decision when there is more risk involved.

There is risk involved when we decide who we are going to follow: Christ or yourself. You must always choose Christ especially because there is more risk involved deciding to follow Him than deciding to follow yourself.

2. My Easter was truly lovely! On Saturday, my family and I watched The Passion of the Christ which I had never seen before. I loved that the language was all in Aramaic because it made it that more realistic. I was expecting it to be very gory and like it actually was, but it still astounded me. And it should. Christ suffering and death should never cease to overwhelm me. He paid it ALL!

On Easter Sunday, some family came over to our house for the day. It was really nice! I had a great time talking and eating and hanging out with the ones I love.

3. On Tuesday, I got a good bit of bullet journaling done which made me feel super accomplished. All of my planners and calendars are all created for the month of April. I am going to reveal what it looks like on Wednesday for my Currently post, so come back to see what it looks like on Wednesday!

4. On Wednesday, some of my really close friends and I spontaneously decided to go to the beach. We headed out, and when we got to the beach, it was extremely windy! We stuck it out for a little less than two hours and then headed to the outlets which was great! I never turn down a trip to the beach or the outlet malls!

5. Like I mentioned here, I am going to try to share my Tuesday outfits each week because I just can't take outfit photos of every outfit. Instead of my Tuesday outfit, this week, you get to see my Thursday outfit. I didn't wear the jacket for most of the day because it was too warm outside, but I wore it in this picture to show y'all the full outfit:
