Pale Pink + Puffer Vest & Grace + Lace Link Up

Happy Monday, y'all! I mentioned here that I was going on a blogging break. However, I am still going to publish my link up posts because I love you guys! Also, don't worry; this break will not last long at all! Just a week or two.

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago and it was still too hot outside to wear it, but I just wanted to wear fall clothes, so I did anyway. ;) And, I took these photos at one of my favorite local parks. There is just something about secluded parks during fall, don't you think?

VEST: Clothes Mentor (similar, similar)
SHOES: Target (similar, similar)
NECKLACE; Family heirloom (similar, similar)

During the summer, I picked up this vest at my local Clothes Mentor for under $4! When I saw it, I knew I had to purchase it. I had been wanting a vest for a while and at under $4, I couldn't pass it up.

It was fairly easy to style it because it is neutral which makes it super versatile. Pink and navy is one of my favorite color combos, so it was a no-brainer for me to pair this vest with this top. By adding my favorite flats, I completed the look.

How would you style this vest?

Let's get to the link up!

Break Time

Hey, y'all! On Monday, I mentioned that I have been suffering from writer's block which is one of the reasons when it has been a bit quiet around here. Also, busyness. Always busyness. :)

So many people gave some super great tips for beating writer's block. Thanks, y'all! Shea mentioned that taking a break would be beneficial. Thank you for your input! I am actually going to take a break from this blog. I am still going to comment on you guys's blogs and get caught up on commenting back on my own posts. And, of course, engage on Instagram and other social medias.

I want this blog to be more about y'all and less about me. I feel like it's ALL about me. I want y'all to benefit from this blog too. I mean, shouldn't it be about y'all? After all, you guy's are the ones that read it.

I am stepping away for a bit to realize and reevaluate just how I want to move forward. I am anticipating this hiatus to last only about 1-3 weeks. Probably closer to about 1 and a half weeks. Also, I might hop in a coupe of times throughout my break.

Thank you to all my readers and supporters! I am hoping to be back soon!

Currently | November & Grace + Lace Link Up

Happy Monday, y'all! I completely forgot that Currently was this Wednesday, so I am just going to do it today! As always, I am linking up with Anne from In Residence and her lovely co-host this month, Catherine from A Short Blonde. Here is what I have been currently discovering, celebrating, starting, wearing, and googling.

DISCOVERING

that I have major writer's block. I am not a writer by nature, however, I do love writing down my thoughts here on the blog. I have been a bit busy, which has contributed, but it is not the only thing. Does anyone have any tips for beating writer's block?

CELEBRATING

fall and Thanksgiving! If you don't already know, I LOVE FALL. I just can't get enough of the beauty, cooler weather, and food. Speaking of food, I feel like everyone just skips over Thanksgiving. Once Halloween is over, Christmas everything comes out. But, it's still fall, and we still have Thanksgiving. Sorry for the rant, y'all. Thanksgiving is just one of my favorite holiday's.

STARTING

to finish redecorating my bedroom. I mentioned here that I painted my room, but I still need to complete the other things like decor, bedding, etc. I got some adorable prints that I am thinking about putting on my wall. I love them, I just can't decide where to put them yet! Also, you can use the code SARAH40 from now until November 12 to get 40% off your order from the amazing shop Made With Some Heart.

WEARING

some super adorable booties I just purchased that are also an amazing dupe for TOMS Desert Wedge Booties. Because they were on sale and I had a coupon I got them for $16! These are my first pair of brown/tan booties and I want to wear them everyday!

GOOGLING

everything. I am such a huge googler. I am always using Google, so there really isn't one specific thing that I am googling.

What have you been currently up to?

See where I link up here.

Now onto the link up!

1. Casey from Cattails, Rabbit Trails, and Thistlefish linked up a super encouraging post about insecurity. It reminded me of my worth in Christ. So good!

Burgundy + Black & Grace + Lace Link Up

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween! I hope you weekend was amazing! Mine was lovely and restful. Today, I have an outfit post for you guys! :)

The other day, Erica from Pumps and Push Ups shared a couple of outfits made from what she purchased at a LOFT sale. I was so inspired by the simple but gorgeous look of her first outfit, and I decided to recreate it!

5 Ways to Layer for Fall

Happy Wednesday, y'all! I have been so busy lately, but I hope that as these next few weeks calm down, I will be more present here and on social media. For today's post,  I am sharing 5 ways to wear fall layers.

MILITARY JACKETS

I am a huge military jacket fan. They are so versatile and can add so much to a fall outfit. Not to mention, they keep you super warm when it starts to get cold outside. I can't tell you just how many times I have worn my military jacket, but here are a few outfits that I have posted to the blog:

Also, you can shop some super great military jackets below!

BLANKET SCARVES

I have always been a lover of scarves. There is something just so cozy and cute about them. Blanket scarves are like regular scarves but ten times better. I love how they can be worn in so many different ways! I have two different ones. Below are a couple of ways that I have styled them before:

DUSTER CARDIGANS

Dusters are SO BIG for fall this year and I couldn't be more pleased. I mean who doesn't want to wear a super oversized sweater? They're pretty much socially accepted pj's, am I right? I have one from Old Navy that I absolutely love. You can buy one of your own below:

PUFFER VESTS

I just recently got on the puffer vest train and let me tell you, I am not getting off anytime soon. Puffer vests add that needed layer that gives each outfit a unique flair without making you too hot. My first puffer vest is navy and quilted. I think that I like quilted vests best, but let's be real, y'all: all vests are great!

LEATHER JACKETS

Leather jackets have always been on my love list, but I just got my first one this past summer. They add something special and different to any outfit. I like both black and brown ones. My favorite way to wear them is with dresses!

What ways do you like to layer for fall?

MIA & Grace + Lace Link Up

Hey, y'all! I just wanted to pop in super quickly today and apologize for the lack of posts and engagement on social media. My only explanation is busyness. I have just been so busy, you guys! This past week and the week before were just completely full. Luckily, most of the busyness was fun including the SC State Fair, a For King & Country concert, a fall festival, and lots of time with friends and family.

Thank you guys so much for staying connected even when I wasn't. ;)

I also have a link up for you guys!

Since both Mackenzie and I have been super slammed lately, we haven't had much time to view those who linked up last week's posts. Thank you so much to all who did link up! Today, we are choosing to feature everyone because y'all are all super great anyway!

Just Be With Me

Happy Wednesday! Today's post kind of goes with last Wednesday's post. Let's get to it!

Last Wednesday, I talked about struggling with perfection. So many people here on the blog and a few of my friends mentioned that they struggle with this as well. "This" meaning feeling like you have to be everything to everybody and do everything perfectly, never making a mistake. Since so many people are dealing with this as well, I thought that I would talk a little more about it.

just be with me peace perfection grace

In my Sunday School class on Sunday, as I was pouring out my thoughts and being vulnerable (a big thing for me to do), I mentioned the analogy that I feel as if I were running as hard as I can, and even if I try harder and get faster, the finish line keeps gong further and further away. My classmates completely agreed and I believe that that analogy was from the Holy Spirit and that I was supposed to share it.

Tagging off that analogy, if we keep running and running and running, chasing perfection, we are bound to get tired. We can do nothing well on our own strength and soon, that feeble strength runs out. So what do we do to replenish it? If your life is like mine, there is not much time to not run. I have to keep running because I feel like I don't have time to stop.

Going back to that other question: how do we gain more strength. The answer to this question is that you must allow yourself to spend some time resting and just being in God's presence. If your like me, you love the concept of just being because you feel like all you do is do, do, do all the time.

When we become exhausted by the perfect standard that we place on ourselves, Jesus calls us to rest. To just be with Him. He allows us to just sit in His presence not doing anything but resting in Him and focusing on who He is.

And the best part, we don't have to get ourselves together before we go to Him. We don't have to put up a facade. We can just come and place all of our fears, worries, joys, pains, praises at His loving feet. He allows us to just be.

And even if you feel like you don't have time to just be, put down whatever you're doing, and do it anyway. Jesus will take care of your lack of time when you rest at His feet. You will be so much better for it.

Something that I have been doing lately is asking God to remind me to be patient with myself and to remember that I don't have to save the world because He already did.

Thanks for reading all my rambles! I hope this was of encouragement to you!
