The Versatile Blogger Award
Happy Wednesday! Becky from BYBMG nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thanks, Becky!
The rules for the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows, 1) thank the person who nominated you, 2) link back to their blog, 3) share seven random facts about yourself, and 4) nominate up to 15 bloggers.
Here are my facts:
1. I like to bake, but I like cooking more. I would love to experiment and create new, yummy recipes.
2. I want to travel the world, but I have never been outside of the South Eastern United States. I would love to go to England, France, Italy, and Australia along with visiting each of the states, just to name a few.
3. Crafting is one of my favorite activities. I especially like sewing, although I am not very good at it. I am trying to keep working at it, but I don't always know what to make. I usually try to make something that I can use, so I am not wasting fabric.
4. I love style and clothes, but I think that my favorite aspect of style is that it shows who I am without someone having to know me or even talk to me.
5. I like to play piano and I love to sing. I cannot go long without singing. My family knows that I am constantly singing or humming a tune. Music is just a part of who I am.
6. I like helping people. To be quite honest, I kind of get aggravated when I ask people who truly need help if they need help, and they respond with no.
7. I love wearing dresses and girly clothes which is one reason why I knew I wanted to participate in Dressember. I encourage you to prayerfully consider donating to Dressember. "Dressember uses fashion to advocate for women who've been exploited for their femininity. As women take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, they are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women." (source) There are women everywhere who are being abused. As a matter of fact, many of these women and girls are US citizens. There are more slaves in the world now than there ever were before. According to the U.S. State Department, 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and half are children. It takes people like you and me to change that. Please consider donating to help these women and children. Donating is fast easy and secure. You can donate here.
I am nominating:

Dressember Day 8: A Little Edge
Happy Tuesday, y'all! It's day 8 of Dressember! Like I mentioned here, I will have outfit posts on both Monday's and Tuesday's and they each will feature two Dressember outfits. They will also be themed. Today's theme is a little edge.
a Rafflecopter giveaway
See where I link up here.
Outfit details:
Dress: Ross (similar)
When I actually wore this outfit, I wore it with a pair of opaque tights because it was just too cold otherwise. I love this outfit because the military jacket adds just a little bit of edge to the outfit. I also love how these colors go together. The blush, various browns, and olive go together SO WELL.
Outfit details:
Tassel necklace: Made by me
I have worn this outfit multiple times because I love how simple but cute it is. Also, it is extremely comfortable. Funny story: this dress was actually found in the little girls department at Old Navy. It is a size XL in girls. It fits more like a XS or S. No joke.
I have never layered necklaces before, but have wanted to for some time. I think that it turned out pretty well.

a Rafflecopter giveaway
Outfit details:
Ahhh! My beloved converses are finally making an appearance on the blog. I wasn't very sure how the sneakers would look with the dress, but I really like the way that it turned out. I love how the necklace adds a pop of purple.
Outfit details:
I love that all of this outfit besides the dress is pretty simple so that this tribal print dress can really shine. I like how long it makes my legs look as well.
I am participating in Dressmber this year and would love it if anyone would like to join! This is Dressember's mission, and I think that it really sums up what Dressember is about: "Dressember uses fashion to advocate for women who've been exploited for their femininity. High Five for Friday- Currently Edition
Happy Friday! Today I am doing a currently edition of my regular High Five for Friday post because I was completely unorganized and forgot that the Currently Link-up that I always participate in was on Wednesday. So here is my late, but great Currently: December post.
1. Wishing
I am currently wishing that the Christmas season lasted forever. It is such a wonderful season full of hope and joy. To quote Matthew West, Christmas is a time, "when all the world is right." I love the Christmas season because that's when most people have such a giving attitude. Christmas season, please don't go by too quickly!

2. Remebering
Every year, I read the Christmas Hope series by Donna VanLiere for Christmas. I just started this tradition two years ago, so this is only the third time that I have read these books. I am remebering some of my favorite parts, the sad times, and such in the books. One reason why I really enjoy reading these books annually is that I read them with a new and different perspective because I am in a different part of my life each time.
3. Wrapping
There are few Christmas parties that I am going to attend, so I have been wrapping a couple of Secret Santa and White Elephant gifts.
4. Baking
I haven't been baking many things lately, but for Thanksgiving, I did bake some delicious acorn shaped cake pops. They are so yummy! I wish I have a picture to show you guys, but I don't. :(
5. Decorating
I am decorating for Christmas! On Black Friday, after shopping for 8 hours, I kept the tradition of putting Christmas decor up on Black Friday and proceeded to decorate the house for six hours. Even though I was way too tired afterwards, I am glad that I got it all up because then I got to rest on Saturday.
That's all!
How was your weekend? What have you currently been doing?

Happy Wednesday! Since we just kicked off Dressember, I thought that I would show you guys some ways that I have worn dresses in Winter and some ways that you can, too.

~Here I wore a tunic dress with my favorite brown boots.
~Here I wore a maxi dress layered with my chambray shirt.
~I styled a summery dress with my blazer here.
That's all the ways that I have documented here on the blog. I can't wait to show you some of the dresses I will be wearing for Dressember! Come back on Monday for an outfit post!
Which way is your favorite?

Dressember: What it is and Why I am Participating
Today is the first day of Dressember, so I decided that I would highlight what it is exactly and why I am participating. I will have outfit posts of myself wearing dresses on every Monday and Tuesday starting next week.
What is Dressember?
Dressember is an organization that fights trafficking through raising awareness. The challenge is to wear a dress every day of December to raise awareness for trafficking. Here is the mission of Dressember from their website:
Dressember uses fashion to advocate for women who've been exploited for their femininity. As women take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, they are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women.
The Dressember Foundation exists to inspire and empower a global community of like-minded women who are locking arms to face one of the greatest injustices of our time.
THE HEART OF DRESSEMBER IS FREEDOM-- THAT EVERY WOMAN HAS THE RIGHT TO LIVE A VIBRANT AND AUTONOMOUS LIFE.
Dressember started in 2009 as a quirky style challenge and has grown to a giant movement of women wearing dresses for every day in December to raise awareness for trafficking.
Dressember has many partners like Vi Bella Jewelry, International Justice Mission, Noonday Collection, Slum Love, and Elegantees.
Most of these partners offer Dressember exclusive products where some of the profits go to the Dressember Foundation. My favorite of these exclusive products is the Dressember Dress that Elegantees offers. You can find it here. It comes in black and wine colors. It also has pockets, which for me, is a BIG plus. Also, you can use my 10% off coupon code, "BowsandClothes".
Why I am Participating?
I am participating in Dressember because I believe in freedom and I believe that everyone should be able to live a good life. I also believe that God has a beautiful plan for each and every person, and most likely, that plan can not happen without their freedom. I believe in justice and that there is way too much injustice in the world.
There are women and girls everywhere that are being abused. It takes you and me to change that. Please join me in changing that. Every dollar counts. You can donate money to my specific Dressember page which you can find here. My goal is $500. I cannot meet that goal without YOU! I encourage you to donate. It is fast, easy, and secure.
