Honesty is the Best Policy

Alright, I'm just going to be completely honest with you: I am busy. I absolutely didn't realize just how busy this weekend and this week were going to be. Needless to say, this isn't the post that I planned on posting today. I planned on posting my monthly Style Snippets post, but I just didn't get it done. I am planning on posting the intended post next Tuesday. And I will definitely go back to my regular posting schedule on Wednesday.

Also, I am guest posting for Thursday Fashion Files Link-up on Thursday,  so look out for that.

Have a happy, happy Tuesday! :)

Transforming Outfits From Summer to Fall

I wore this exact outfit during the summer, except I wore white sandals, and I didn't wear this blazer. Adding fall shoes--like flats or ankle booties--and adding a layer or two, can easily transform a summer outfit into a fall outfit.

It makes getting dressed so much easier because you already have the basics of the outfit planned out. You just have to add the completer piece and shoes. I transform my outfits in this way often.

I paired my blazer with this dress because I wanted a light layer to keep me warm enough, but not swelter. I added my go to leopard shoes and a coordinating necklace, and the outfit was complete. :)

What are your thoughts? Do you transform outfits like this?

Currently: October

Happy Fall! I feel like a broken record because I keep saying that I can't believe that this year is already almost over! How is it already October! Here is what I have been currently eating, exploring, wearing, admiring, and collecting:

Eating

Lately, I have been eating lots of comfort food. It as been extremely rainy (thank goodness the sun has come back out, though), so I have been eating chili, taco soup, and other hot comfort foods.

Exploring

Hmmm. I really don't know what I am currently exploring. I had a super busy week last week, but this week is SO much lighter. I have had a lot more time to just chill. I have been exploring Pinterest, my couch, and pajamas. Haha! Just kidding. . . . maybe.

Wearing

Recently, I have been wearing skinny jeans and ballet flats. I also just wore my new military jacket.  It hasn't been quite cold enough to wear too many sweaters or layers. I have been wearing pants, fall, colors, and light layers, though. I am planning to wear my ankle booties soon.

Admiring

I have been admiring everyone's cute fall looks! I am trying not to get too jealous of everybody's fall looks. I know I will get there soon. :)  I am also admiring all of the pieces that are available in marsala

Collecting

I am collecting pins on Pinterest. I am an avid Pinterest user. I have over 11,000 pins! A couple of days ago, I created a group board for bloggers. You can check out the details right here

Thanks so much to Anne and Jenna for hosting this link up!

4 Ways I Wear the Color Plum

Happy Tuesday, y'all! Fall is most definitely here! Today, I am going to share with you how I wear the Fall color plum.

With Chambray

I love the way that the warm plum pops against the light, cool chambray!

With Black and Grey

The dark colors look really well with the plum since they are cooler colors, and the plum is such a warm color.

With Navy

With Bright Colors

Pairing plum with other bright or jeweled tone colors is one of my favorite ways to wear plum.

How would you wear plum?

Happy Monday! Last week was exhaustingly busy. I am so thankful that this week is A LOT less busy.

Like I mentioned here, I started a group board on Pinterest. I created it so that various bloggers and I could inspire each other with outfits that we have worn, or outfits that have inspired us. Here are just a few rules and details about this new board:

  1. This board is exclusively for bloggers. I would love to create another group board later on that is not only for bloggers, but for right now, this one will remain completely for bloggers.
  2. This is a style inspiration board. You may pin anything related to style that you have posted onto your blog, or anything related to style that has inspired you.
  3. There will be no limit to how many pins you may pin a day. Also, there is no limit to how many bloggers can join.
  4. If you would like to join me, email me at mybowsandclothes {at} gmail {dot} com explaining that you would like to join me. Also, please include your Pinterest username so that I know who to invite.
Even if you aren't a blogger, you can still follow the board to see what everyone else is pinning and get your own style inspiration. You can follow me on Pinterest here.

High Five for Friday!

Happy Friday! Not only has this week flown by, but this YEAR has flown by! Am I right? It's craziness! Anyway, here are the five high points of my week:

1. Like I mentioned here, on Saturday the 19th, my family and I headed out to Edisto Beach. We stayed all the way through to Friday. It was super nice and relaxing. I was really surprised by how many shells there were on the beach. There were piles and piles of them that you could just dig through! I had such a great time! Also, a BIG thanks to Rachel and Tif for guest posting for me last week! Thanks, ladies! You can see their guest posts here and here.

2. Old Navy has always been one of my favorite stores, so when we went to the Tanger Outlets in Charleston while on vacation, I had to visit. As I was walking through the store, I didn't notice any particularly great sales or clearance items. For some reason, I ended up looking around in the little girls' clothing section. Boy am I glad I did! I spotted a grey dress that was 50% off; only $10. I also noticed that they ran really big. A medium looked like it was an extra large. I ended up trying on the dress-in extra large, of course-and it fit! I hope to do an outfit post with it soon. Here is what it looks like:

Awful picture that doesn't do it justice.

3. I am super excited because I created a group board on Pinterest! This group board is for various bloggers to pin either their outfits or outfits that give them inspiration. It is meant to give each other style inspiration. You can see it here. If you would like to join the group board, all you have to do is email me at mybowsandclothes@gmail.com with your Pinterest username telling me you want to join.

4. Please pray for my church because we are going through a big transition right now.

5. Just in case you missed them, here are my posts from this week:

Have a wonderful weekend!
