High Five for Friday

Happy Friday, everyone! How has your week been? I hope that it has been great! Check out the five high points of my week:

1. I went and saw Cinderella (the new movie) today because a local business set up a pre-showing. It was SO GOOD! It is now my favorite movie! You HAVE to go see it!

2. I posted the third installment in my Favorite.... blank series. It was a compilation of all of my favorite completer pieces. It reminded me how much I love light layers for Spring. And now I really want ALL of them! You can find it here.

Favorite Completer Pieces: Military and anorak jackets, leather jackets, jean jackets, kimonos, blazers.http://mybowsandclothes.blogspot.com/

3. I converted my commenting system from the Blogger default to Disqus. So far, I love it! Let me know what you think about it! I also updated and changed a couple of things layout and design wise. Can you tell? :)

4. I have been online window shopping for some new Spring clothes! I am so excited to get some of them! Look out next Thursday when I post my Spring wishlist. There are so many cute items! You are going to want to check it out!

5. I have been thinking about ways that I can improve. God has really been pushing me to evaluate myself and what I have been doing. I wrote a post in more depth and with a cute outfit here.

Plaid and Camel. Plaid button down, jeans, camel sweater, riding boots.

Have a great weekend!

My Favorite.... Completer Pieces

Happy Thursday! For today's My Favorite... blank, I decided to post my favorite completer pieces. What is a completer piece, you ask? A completer piece is like a jacket, sweater, blazer, etc that you wear to "complete" an outfit. In other words, they add interest and depth to a usually boring outfit.

Favorite Completer Pieces: Military and anorak jackets, leather jackets, jean jackets, kimonos, blazers. http://mybowsandclothes.blogspot.com/

Military/Anorak Jackets | Option 1, Option 2
I have wanted a military style jacket for a while now. There are so many ways that you can wear them! In my opinion, they are the perfect light layer for Spring or Fall!

Leather Jackets | Option 1, Option 2
I love leather jackets! They add so much to an outfit! If I had one, I would wear it mostly with lace, pink, or girly pieces to create a Good Juxtaposition

Jean Jackets | Option 1, Option 2
I have a jean jacket and I wear it like crazy! It is so comfortable, versatile, and a great layering piece! And this white one looks like it would be a great addition to my Spring wishlist which is coming soon, by the way. Here are some ways that I have worn mine: one, two, three, four, five.

Kimonos | Option 1, Option 2
I have a kimono and it is my favorite light layer for Spring and Summer! It is so cute and comfortable. Seeing these really makes me want to get another one! I really love the second one.

Blazers | Option 1, Option 2
I put two different kinds of blazers on here. I put a classic, more structured blazer, and I put a fitted jersey one. I have a classic blazer, but I really want a more relaxed jersey one because it would be easier to wear in more of a casual setting. Also, the light grey blazer comes in the cutest coral color that I have been dying to get!

What is your favorite completer piece?

Happy Wednesday! How has your day been? Hope it's been great!

Anyway, I originally wore this outfit with an ivory scarf even though I didn't really care for the way it looked. I did not wear it in these pictures because it just looked way too weird. The white/ivory in the plaid didn't match well enough to make it look put together. Also, the scarf was to big and floppy. It resembled a sloppy mess. But, as you can see, just taking out one problem item makes it look so much better! Not perfect, but better!

Sounds like something that we can apply to our lives, doesn't it? I wonder what would happen if we would just examine our lives to find the problem areas, and throw them out? What if we would just look at our lives through God's eyes so that we can see what the problem items are?

Maybe then we would be able to live more joy-filled, fulfilling lives. Chances are, if you look for one, you'll be more open and equipped to find other problem items. Maybe then we would be able to start living the beautiful life that God has called us to live.

Just a thought to encourage you through your Wednesday. :)

I am sitting out on my porch writing this post in shorts! It has warmed up so much! I love it, but I wanted a little bit more Spring! I didn't ask for eighty degree weather, I asked for sixties! #highmaintenance (I decided to go ahead and post this particular outfit even though I would die in this outfit in today's weather!)

Oh, well! Hopefully it'll cool down a bit! I am thankful, though, because it was supposed to rain almost every day this week, but it hasn't rained today, and chance for rain for the next few days has gone down some. I feel like all I talk about is weather, but when one has been dying for Spring for forever, one can't stop talking about it!

I love this outfit because bright pink and turquoise is one of my favorite color combinations. It just looks so great and like Spring!

When I am itching for Spring, I add bright colors and pastels to my outfits so that I have a little bit of Spring in an outfit that screams Winter. It helps to get you in the mood and prepared for those beautiful Spring days. You can see another Winter outfit where I wore bright colors here.

How is your weather? What is one of your favorite color combinations?

Happy Monday! I hope that your weekend was great! Before we get started today, would you please go comment on my post from Saturday? I had some questions that I would like you to answer! Thanks so much! I love hearing from y'all!

Anyway, we have had some warmer weather lately so I have not had to wear as many layers! I am so excited that Spring is coming! At least for me, (apologies to those who still have snow!).

This outfit came about when I was planning my outfit for Sunday morning church and realized that I had not worn/styled this dress for Winter like I had hoped to at the beginning of Fall. I had also wanted to wear this jewelry because I had not worn it in a while. Thus became the Dressed Up Striped Maxi outfit.

I love it because it is so comfy, but still looks put together. You guys don't know me if you don't know that my favorite outfits are those that are stylish and comfortable!

This maxi is interesting enough that it doesn't need lots more colors, or patterns to make it look attractive and beautiful. Knowing that, I kept the colors of the accessories and completer pieces neutral which allows the dress to shine. And, it also lets the sparkly jewelry do their thang. :)

On another note, do not forget to hop on over here on Thursday for the next My Favorite.... blank installment! It is going to be about my favorite completer pieces! You'll want to check it out!

Commenting System

Hi! Just popping in really quickly to ask you guys a question. I have been contemplating changing my comment system. I have the standard Blogger commenting system, but have been thinking about switching to Disqus. Which commenting system do you like best from a blogger perspective and a reader perspective?

I haven't had any problems with the Blogger commenting system (that I know of), but I have used Disqus on other blogs and really liked it. Would you stop reading if I changed the commenting system?

Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback!

High Five for Friday

Happy Friday, everyone! How has your week been? I hope that it has been filled with blessings! Check out the five high points of my week:

1. I cannot believe it is already Friday! This week has flown by! It seems like I was just writing last week's H54F post!

2. We have had the best weather ever this week! On Wednesday it was in the high seventies! Crazy, right? All I know is that I don't care if it's crazy, I just want Spring weather!

3. Alright. I'm just going to say it. I have been struggling. Struggling with faith. I have been finding it so hard to trust. But, having said all of that, I am thankful that God is still working on me, and I am getting better! I wrote a post this week about something that really encouraged me, and I encourage you to read it. You can find it here.

Take the Leap. Graphic sweater, button down, jeans, riding boots, cross body purse. http://mybowsandclothes.blogspot.com/. #riding #boots #outfit #layered

4. On a happier note, I finally got a MUCH needed haircut. It had been since November since I had last gotten one. I forgot to tell my stylist not to cut too much off the bottom, and the picture that I showed her was shorter than what I wanted, so let's just say that my hair is as short as it has ever been before! Oops! I'm not really worried about it though because my hair grows fast, and it actually is a pretty cute style!

5. I don't have much planned for the weekend, but I'm hoping to get some fun stuff done like sewing, blogging, painting my nails, etc. Of course, I do have cleaning to do, but that shouldn't take too long.
